Festival of the Giant
The Festival weekend weather was wonderful. Maybe that's what brought so many day visitors to the park to join the campers in the festivities. The beach was filled with people, sun umbrellas, and forty-five sand sculptures. There were lots of crafts and painted faces to be seen and lots of participation in the many games and skill competitions. And the food was great! Thanks to everyone who contributed their time and effort to make the weekend such a lot of fun.
Annual Photo Contest
Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 Photo Contest! You can look at the photos in the website Photo Gallery and they will be on display in the Visitors Centre. The winners in the People Category were Debra Bisignano (1st Place), John Ranta (2nd Place), and Ted Armstrong (3rd Place) all of Thunder Bay. In the Scenery category the winners were Betty Whatley, Thunder Bay (1st Place), Keshia Paddick, London, Ontario (2nd Place), and Shauna Kosoris, Thunder Bay (3rd Place). In the Wildlife category the winners were James Barber (1st Place), Betty Whatley (2nd Place), Syd Doherty (3rd Place) all of Thunder Bay and there was an Honourable Mention in this category to Randy Sylvester of Bloomington, Illinois.
Be sure to turn in your photos for the 2010 contest. December 31, 2009 deadline
Wildlife, people, and scenery categories. Print the submission form and submit it with your 8" x 10" photo on photo paper!
Westwind Store
The Westwind Store, on the second floor of the Visitors Centre, has a large variety of nature, camping, and fun items. When you purchase items at the store you help support the activities of the Friends. Become a member of the Friends and receive a 10% discount at the store.

Guest Book. A new feature on our website
The Guest Book is a place where park visitors can tell others about interesting experiences, animal sightings, fun family activities and the like which they've enjoyed at the park.
